Welcome to the Dollhouse.

I am a total kid.

I just had a hot dog for lunch and I have a little bit of a red Kool-Aid mustache.

I like to play, and I like Annabelle's dolls just as much as she does.

So I get really excited when I find good finds from my own childhood.
Last week was a particularly good week for my own inner kid.

One day on a whim me and Annabelle pulled into the Antique Mall to waste some time. We love it there and especially try to make time to go when there are no boys to hurry us along.

This time was awesome though.

My Child dolls. They had them.

They were there the last time we had gone but they were too expensive so I hesitantly didn't get one.

I haven't seen one in person in about 20 years. I remember the Christmas I got mine from my Aunt. She had soft pale skin and black hair. I named her Connie and I loved her.
She was in my Top 4 favorite dolls.

Not sure what ever did happen to her. Hmm.

Recently I tried to find one just like her on Ebay but it turns out they are kind of rare and I just don't have the money to spend on old rare dolls. We mostly need it for, you know, food and necessities.

But on this super awesome day, they were still there and they were marked 50% off!
 I could get one!!!!

And of course Annabelle loved them too.
And of course I was all like "OK, I guess I will let you get one this time."

But she wanted the blond haired one! No! That's not right! Connie had DARK hair! Ahem, I mean, "What about this one, Annabelle? She is so cute?!" .............Nope. Wasn't working.
So then the logic in my head turned to the fact that 50% off is actually nothing more than buy one get one free. Right? Well,  it technically is. So I grabbed the two of them and handed them to Annabelle. She struggled to carry them both through the whole store so I offered to help her out and hold one. You know, because she needed help.

I would have named her Connie except they came with name tags pinned to them so we just went with that.
From left to right this is Emma and Jenny Lynn.

And speaking of awesome finds from the antique mall.
The last time we were there (about a month earlier when I couldn't afford the My Child doll) these babies were there.

They are La Newborns. A boy and a girl. The exact ones I had as a kid. They were my most favorite dolls of all time. I have many many memories of these babies.
Amanda and Christopher. They are anatomically correct. Ayden said it looked like they took one of the dolls fingers and stuck it on his private when they made him.

Annabelle seems to love these babies too. They get carried around a lot.

So, I pretty much won the Nostalgia lottery last month.

We go to that shop often, and while  I usually do see something that makes me SQUEE with excitement because it invokes happy childhood memories, I have never found such greatness at one time.
And I am SO glad I have a young daughter that shares my doll enthusiasm.
It wouldn't be nearly as fun without her.

Also, now that I have read what I just wrote.....

First of all, I kind of feel like one of those crazy doll ladies like that one episode of Desperate Housewives.

Secondly, What? My childhood toys are at an Antique Mall? Oy vey!
