Remember rain? That wet sweet relief that falls from the sky?
We got some.
I first saw it last night. I couldn't believe it. And like I said then, I heard the collective sigh of the earth and it's inhabitants at that moment.
We have had the driest January through July on record here in Texas.
And we are recovering from a triple digit heat streak that I think was one day off from the record.
Thank you Jesus for this rain! What a gift!

It is so magical to see the life instantly come back to the plants. As they drink the water they have been so desperately waiting for they not only return to green, they turn a green that is even brighter than before. As to say "I am restored and I am glad!"
They are so happy, all of the plants.
Even the grass rejoiced by not only turning green in a matter of hours but also growing I swear 5 inches.
We may use the lawnmower again this year after all.
The cats spent the morning out on the porch enjoying the change in weather. They also enjoyed watching the birds that the showers brought out.
My cardinal friends, along with many other birds, came out of their shady hide outs in which they have taken refuge from the brutal heat. I havent seen much of them lately unless I had the sprinkler on.
It's raining
It's pouring
But I ain't complaining
'Cause I love the rain
It's pouring
But I ain't complaining
'Cause I love the rain
